I CONTAIN MULTITUDES / THE ODYSSEY

Our History, Our Story

From a single software project to a multidisciplinary creative studio, our journey has been shaped by curiosity, collaboration and a willingness to evolve. Each chapter has brought new disciplines, new perspectives and new ways of thinking.

But throughout it all, one thing has remained constant: the people behind the work.

Where It All Began

Countryside & Traders | 2017–2019

Our story began with Countryside & Traders, our first major project and the foundation upon which much of our future work would be built. Bringing together expertise across multiple disciplines, the project combined emerging ideas with the latest full-stack software technology to create a new digital platform.

As the project evolved, so too did its ambitions, eventually becoming Countryside Alive. Towards the end of development, we acquired the intellectual property and software rights, giving us ownership of the technology and foundations that would go on to underpin many of our projects over the following years.

What began as a single development project became something much bigger: the starting point for an independent creative and technological journey.

Building Beyond Borders

Bagsy Card | 2019–2021

Developed alongside the final stages of Countryside & Traders, Bagsy Card marked the beginning of a more unified and collaborative studio. With an expanding skillset and an established technological foundation, we began applying our experience to a new platform with ambitions of its own.

The project brought an unexpected international dimension to our work. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our team collaborated across Europe and South Africa, embracing remote working and agile development to bring the platform to market.

As Bagsy Card matured, we continued to deliver substantial content and system updates. Most notably, the 'Alive' update introduced a significant overhaul of the platform, incorporating technology and capabilities developed through Countryside Alive.

It was an important period of growth, demonstrating that our capabilities could extend beyond individual projects to the ongoing development and evolution of digital products.

An Independent Creative Vision

The founding of Vibrant Vision Studios | 2022–2025

Building on the experience gained through Countryside Alive and Bagsy Card, we established Vibrant Vision Studios as our first fully independent creative studio.

This marked a deliberate shift in direction. Rather than focusing primarily on contracted database and platform development, we set out to build original content, develop our own intellectual property and create the digital infrastructure to support it.

The result was a diverse portfolio of creative work. Over this period, we launched magazines, an independent Cotswolds-based platform, a charitable outreach brand, three podcasts and four seasons of original content through a live-service partnership.

Alongside our own projects, we began working with small and medium-sized businesses, delivering websites, printed materials and digital assets that brought our creative and technical expertise to a wider audience.

Vibrant Vision Studios gave us the independence to develop our own ideas, build lasting creative properties and establish a studio identity beyond software development.

Creativity With a Purpose

The Initiative | 2022–Present

Alongside the formation of Vibrant Vision Studios, we launched The Initiative, a sister brand created to connect our creative capabilities with the communities and charitable organisations around us.

The idea was simple: use the resources, experience and reach of the studio to support meaningful projects, working alongside organisations to create content and opportunities that could make a difference.

Through partnerships with organisations including RABI, English Rural and Student Beans, The Initiative developed into a platform for community engagement, charitable collaboration and original creative work.

We also introduced Exposures, our in-house photography initiative, producing freely accessible imagery for local communities and wider project use. The collection became another way of putting our creative resources to work, making photography available for both internal projects and external organisations.

The Initiative gave our work another dimension, establishing a place where creativity could extend beyond commercial projects and contribute to something wider.

Bringing an Original Idea to Life

Countryside Alive | 2023–2025

A return to our roots, Countryside Alive represented a significant milestone in the development of our original content portfolio.

Having retained ownership of the intellectual property, we licensed the platform to an external partner and took responsibility for overseeing its content production during its first year of operation. What had started as an early software project had now developed into a wider regional platform, connecting communities, businesses and organisations throughout the Cotswolds.

The project brought together partners from across the region, creating a network of local voices and opportunities for collaboration. Alongside the digital platform, we launched Alive Magazine, extending the project into print and giving its growing community another way to engage with the content.

It was a full-circle moment for the studio: revisiting one of our earliest projects with the experience, resources and creative ambition we had developed along the way.

Made by People, For People

Humans Made This | 2025–Present

Every chapter of our journey has brought us closer to the studio we are today. Humans Made This represents the culmination of that evolution: a new identity that brings together our experience in technology, original content, design and creative production under one shared philosophy.

Inspired by Walt Whitman's words, 'I am large, I contain multitudes', our name reflects a simple belief: people and the things they create should never be confined to a single discipline. We are more than developers, more than creatives and more than producers. We are a collective of different skills, perspectives and ideas, brought together by the work we make.

At the heart of the brand is a commitment to keeping creativity human. In a world increasingly shaped by automation and artificial intelligence, we believe the value of creative work lies in the people behind it. The conversations that uncover an idea, the judgement that shapes a story, the eye that captures a moment and the craft that brings everything together. These are things that deserve to remain human.

Our approach is informed by long-term research and experience, placing human thinking, original ideas and purposeful creation at the centre of every project. We embrace technology where it helps us do better work, but never at the expense of the people, perspectives and creative decisions that make that work meaningful.

Today, we bring together our heritage in software and platform development with an established background in original content production. From hospitality and retail to corporate events, we work with organisations to capture stories, create photography and film, and turn ideas and experiences into considered, tangible content. Through our wider studio network, we continue to deliver practical digital solutions, websites and creative assets for businesses and communities.

But ultimately, Humans Made This is about something much bigger than the services we offer. It's about recognising that behind every business, every story, every idea and every meaningful piece of work, there are people.

Technology can provide the tools. It can accelerate a process and open up new possibilities. But it is human curiosity that asks the questions, human imagination that sees the possibilities and human creativity that gives an idea its meaning.

We believe the best work happens when those things come together.
